Artist Biography

Shevaun Doherty is an award winning Irish botanical artist whose highly detailed watercolour paintings capture the intricate beauty of nature.

Passionate about conservation, her artwork is often used to raise awareness. She designed a set of Irish postage stamps featuring bees in 2018, and the logo-image for the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan 2015.

She exhibits regularly in Ireland and internationally, winning numerous awards for her work, including five Gold medals at Bloom, and the Joanna Craig McFeeley Rose Bowl at the Society of Botanical Artists exhibition, London 2017. Her work is in the Natural History Museum of Ireland’s collection.

Shevaun finds the role of encouraging and mentoring emerging artists deeply rewarding.

She is a tutor for the SBA Distance Learning Diploma Course, and gives regular workshops at home and abroad.
