Daniel Lipstein is a printmaker and painter, member of The Graphic Studio Dublin since 2002. Upon his graduation in 2006 from the fine art print faculty of NCAD he received the CAP Foundation award that allowed him to do large scale paintings in 2007, in 2009 he graduated from the MFA course in the same faculty in NCAD.
He won several awards including the K&M Evans award for painting in the RHA in 2017 and first prize in the Biennial fine art print competition, ‘Impressions’ at Galway Arts Centre in 2010. Daniel is teaching a comprehensive traditional printmaking course at Trinity Art Workshop, Trinity College Dublin.
This is a three day comprehensive traditional creative printmaking course that teaches several disciplines. The aim of the course is to facilitate the participants in being effective using the main disciplines of printmaking. In this intensive fun workshop participants will be guided through each stage and skill and will end up with very attractive finished work and edition-able prints.
The course will cover the following printing techniques:
Day one: Monotype, carborundum, dry-point and multi-plates registration.
Day two: Soft ground and hard ground etching. Aquatint.
Day three: Proofing and creating small editions, working in any of the skills learnt during the first three days, and combining them.
* The course takes place in Artform modern ligh-filled seaside studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist, and runs from 11am to 5pm on the first day and from 10am to 4pm on the second day. Cost does not include accommodation, on request Artform offers artist accommodation options. Details on art materials and safety will be provided after signing up to the course.
