About the Course
This three day course offers the opportunity to experiment with oil paints and create your own contemporary art works using a fresh collage approach. Oil paint is a hugely versatile medium which can be applied in many ways using different applications and this course offers the freedom to experiment and create under Melissa’s guidance. In the studio, we will be using primarily oil paint, and it will involve working both on canvas and paper as well as making mono prints. The artist will offer demonstrations on mark making, mixing of colours combinations both opaque and transparent, along with some discussion about painting both historical and contemporary. On the third day of the course, there is the option of taking a ‘one-to-one mini clinic’ where Melissa will offer practical advice and tips to individual artists on their own creative practice. All levels are welcome, however intermediate to advanced artists will benefit the most from this lively, fun few days engaged in creating works and in artistic conversation!
* The course takes place in Artform modern light-filled seaside studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist, and runs from 11am to 5pm on the first day and from 10am to 4pm on the subsequent days. On request, Artform offers artist accommodation options. Details on art materials and safety will be provided after signing up to the course.
