Wexford born Mary O’Connor is a Dublin-based artist who makes paintings, screen prints, and large-scale wall murals using bold abstract geometric designs and a strong colour palette. She studied at TU Dublin, has since exhibited widely including a solo exhibition at SO Fine Art Editions in 2020.

About the course
This stimulating workshop explores contemporary approaches to painting. It is the perfect jump-start for those who want to explore abstract painting for the first time and those who want to gather new idea sources. We will work through drawing and painting. Designed to encourage you to explore new ways of seeing, you will work within the scope of carefully prepared projects, which will provide strong direction and structure while allowing for plenty of flexibility that will encourage each student’s individual creative instincts to flourish. Suitable for experienced artists as well as beginners, who want to explore new ways of seeing as well as those who wish to expand their creative instinct.
* The course takes place in Artform modern light-filled seaside studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist, and runs from 11am to 5pm on the first day and from 10am to 4pm on the subsequent days. Cost does not include accommodation, on request Artform offers artist accommodation options. Details on art materials will be provided after signing up to the course.
