The aim of this course is to develop a strong element of experimentation and creativity within mark making as a vehicle for personal expression. Using a variety of traditional art materials such as ink, graphite, watercolour etc. and a variety of non traditional tools, participants will discover ways of making interesting works on paper.
Through a process of looking, drawing and discussing, we will ask ourselves “What makes an interesting drawing”? Examples of work by historical artists as well as contemporary practitioners will be shown and discussed.
Participants will be facilitated to broaden their notion of drawing and will learn how to engender a more creative approach to their practice.
* Cost does not include accommodation. Artform also provide an artist accommodation package.
