Have you ever walked past a river bed and noticed the fine ground sand, or marvelled at ochre coloured soils? As landscape painters we often observe what is under our feet and are thinking of how to construct a painting that carries depth of meaning and sense of place. By using elements such as pigments from the landscape our paintings are a direct reflection of what we see. In this workshop you will learn how to combine dry ingredients with cold wax and incorporate this into your oil paintings and to set up a surface that will hold cold wax and oil paint to create a depth of surface. You will by the end of the course learn the fundamentals of working with oil paint and cold wax medium. Please note this course is only suitable for oil paint.
