Course Concept

This course is designed for artists who want to learn the art of acrylic painting. Artists who are new to acrylics can become frustrated trying to use the medium. Steve will help you overcome these issues by showing you how to handle acrylics, what equipment to use and how to improve your painting technique: beside colour mixing and palette management you will pick up useful tips on use of retarder, use of water and brush cleaning. You will practice painting people, objects and landscapes, and in the process practice composition and perspective. You will work on simple paintings from drawing to blocking to completing a piece. Most importantly, you should finish the course having had fun and being able to enjoy acrylic painting.

* The course takes place in the beautiful village of Dunmore East and in Artform modern light-filled seaside studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist, and runs from 11am to 5pm on the first day and from 10am to 4pm from the second day. Cost does not include accommodation, on request Artform offers artist accommodation options. Details on art materials and safety will be provided after signing up to the course.
