Date: 27th January 2019

Official launch of ARTFORM Dunmore East School of Art and announcement of an artwork donation from Artform to the Waterford Municipal Gallery.

A second edition of a contemporary art group show took place in the stunning 3 story building at 44 The Quay from 30th November to 16th December 2018. On show nearly 200 pieces by 41 artists. Among the exhibitors local artists (James Horan, Sheila Naughton, Fintan O’Byrne), Artform tutors (Daniel Lipstein, Michael Mulcahy, Ann Quinn, Tony Robinson) and guest artists from around Ireland (Bernadette Doolan, Mary O’Connor, Aidan Crotty, Michael Wann, Eileen O’Sullivan) to mention just a few.

The opening night saw over 250 guests including the two Mayors of Waterford representing city, county and the metropolitan area as well as the Municipal Gallery. This was significant also because the public representatives helped to officially launch Artform Dunmore East School of Art as well as announcing a donation of an artwork from the Artform Annual Art Fair to the Waterford Municipal Gallery once it moves to its new location adjacent to 44 The Quay.

This year, our educational outreach included: presentations to Adult Education Art Group of WWETB, art students of the Abbey Community College Waterford, and the Garter Lane Waterford Young Critics. We were delighted that Eamonn Maxwell, collection advisor to the Arts Council paid us a visit and expressed appreciation of some of the works on display.
