Artform was delighted to host the second edition of celebration of visual art in Mount Congreve Gardens on June 14th – 15th 2025. The program included a number of events: opening of EXHIBITION ‘Paint Waterford’; PAINT-OUT WITH DEMOS & ‘POP-UP ON EASELS’; series of ARTIST-LED MASTERCLASSES; opening of EXHIBITION ‘In the Gardens’ by artist Eamon Colman (Aosdana).
On June 14th from 10 am to 5 pm, artists joined five leading guest artists: Dave West, Nina Rumińska, Róisín Curé, Steve Browning, Sebastian Thommen, in the idyllic surroundings of the 70 acres of Mount Congreve Gardens for Paint-out and Draw-along with Live Demos. Participating artists had the opportunity to show their works on the day in a pop-up ‘Exhibition on Easels’ with prizes. The opening event of the ‘Paint Waterford’ open call exhibition with invited artists took place at the conclusion of the day from 5pm-6.30pm in the Gallery at the Stables Café in Mount Congreve Gardens. The exhibition continued throughout the summer with great interest and many red dots.
On June 15th from 10 am to 4.30 pm, Masterclasses in different styles and media inspired by the gardens’ natural environment were held, offering artists with some experience an opportunity to expand their practice working with experienced mentors: Gabhann Dunne, David Begley, Sinéad Lucey, Dave West and Róisín Curé. On the same day, Eamon Colman (Aosdana) presented during a lunch time opening, a new body of work in the ‘Peach House’ (Walled Garden). This unique installation of work entitled ‘In the Gardens’ was inspired by the gardens and produced in the context of Eamon’s year long research residency facilitated by Artform at Mount Congreve.
With this ‘Art in the Gardens’ event, Artform aimed at welcoming the visual art community back to the beautiful Mount Congreve Gardens and opening space of dialogue between art and nature.
