Call for submissions of artworks to be selected for 2021 Artform Annual Art Fair at 44 The Quay Waterford, by a panel of Artform artist-tutors is now CLOSED. Heartfelt thanks to all artists who submitted their work through our Annual 44 Exhibition Open Call, and to the wonderful selection panel – Artform tutors Eamon Colman, Gabhann Dunne and Maurice Quillinan, and Artform online partner Big Look Art. The selection panel has completed the selection from 250 submissions received. The panel valued, and considered carefully each application. Selected works have been notified by email to each candidate on Sun 21 Nov. Following the success of the last 3 years, Artform Art Fair is back for its fourth edition in the stunning 3 storey period building at 44 The Quay Waterford, from 2 to 23 Dec, in the festive context of Winterval – the Waterford Christmas Festival, launching on 2 Dec 6-10pm, and staying open Mon to Sat 12 noon to 6pm; Sun 1pm to 6pm. This year, the annual exhibition of contemporary and plein air art will feature over 200 art works by 44 Irish-based artists included by invitation and newly also through an open call selection process. The open submission section is intended to offer an opportunity for conversation of artistic expressions by emerging and established artists. In addition, for the first time, a series of prizes will be awarded to artists in selected categories. In this context, in conjunction with GOMA Gallery of Modern Art and Theatre Royal, Artform presents a retrospective solo show of artist Ben Hennessy, recipient of Artform ‘Waterford Platform’ Award 2021.

Following art forms are welcome: painting, drawing, sketching, print, sculpture, mixed media. Applications are submitted digitally for shortlisting at the link above. It is essential that submitted images be of a sufficient quality of at least 1600px by 3200px wide, saved in file types: .jpeg, .jpg and .png. Selected artwork will be displayed both in the gallery at 44 The Quay and online in Artform Artlogic technology supported viewing rooms.

Each artist is welcome to enter up to 3 artworks. No size restrictions apply (however you might contact us regarding very large work). Following details must be provided with each artwork: Artist name and surname, Artwork title, Medium, Dimensions in cm (as sold – framed or unframed, in cm e.g. 30 x 30 cm), Price in euro including Artform sales commission of 35%. For selected artwork: Artwork details to be provided both through the online submission form, and affixed on the back of each artwork. Submitted artwork must be framed (or otherwise suitable for to be displayed), equipped with strong hanging gear and be at hand and ready to hang so that it can be readily made available and installed in the gallery. Please contact us regarding installation of sculptural work. Choice of artwork to be displayed is at Artform’s discretion. Once displayed, all artwork is subject to showing until the end of the exhibition. Artwork collection in the gallery, address: Artform, 44 The Quay, Waterford, X91 KC63 will be on Fri 26 Nov 11am – 5pm and Sat 27 Nov 11am-2pm. Collection point in Dublin: 23 Belgrave road, Dublin – Rathmines, DO6Y1XO will be on Fri 26 Nov 11am – 5pm only. If availing of collection and joint transport from Dublin, please take extra care to package and to label both your artwork and packaging.
